Saving Lives and Minds (SLAM) Tutoring
The Saving Lives and Minds (SLAM) project is a tutoring program designed to help at-risk teens improve their grades and scores on standardized tests. The program targets youth with truant histories and behavioral problems, and provides academic assistance and mentoring to encourage these children to improve both their school performance and attendance. The program also includes a summer enrichment component that provides instruction in art, science, sports and reading. SLAM is funded by the Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation and the Freddie Mac Foundation.
