Concerned Black Men salutes CBM member Eric Holder upon his confirmation as U.S. Attorney General
Concerned Black Men (CBM) and its supporters nationwide applaud the recent confirmation of Eric Holder as Attorney General of the United States. A long time CBM member, Holder is the Nation’s first African American to hold this post.
“The President could not have made a better choice. We in CBM are so proud of Eric and know he will do a great job,” says Bobby James, National Chair of Concerned Black Men. Having previous served as deputy attorney general during the Clinton administration, Holder returns to a Justice Department facing many challenges. “Change is coming to the office of the Attorney General. With Eric Holder assuming this position, the country is getting the best person to handle the multiple issues facing the Department of Justice at this crucial time,” states George L. Garrow, Jr., Esq., Executive Director of CBM.
Brother Holder was an early member of CBM, volunteering with other men to support and motivate young people. He will oversee a Justice Department engaged not only in fighting crime, but an agency supporting programs and activities to prevent young people from becoming involved in the justice system. We congratulate Brother Holder regarding this historic accomplishment.
