Birney/Savoy Elementary students (Washington DC) enrolled in CBM's Saving Lives and Minds Project (SLAM) present Kinara candles representing the seven principles of Kawanzaa. This SLAM Project focuses on academic achievement with a particular focus on student improvement in math and reading skills. Students are also engaged in cultural enrichment activities to support program interventions.
